Polygoose Studio has launched the Steam page for its upcoming co-op piloting and navigating game, Over the Radio, tuning fans into what the game will be about.
Over the Radio requires two players, one to be a pilot and one to be a navigator. Working together, the two must get to the right destination. While the pilot is in the game controlling the plane, the navigator is looking at maps outside of the game.
The physical maps can be printed out, and they’re combined to create quite a bit of replayability. Both aviation maps and board games maps were used to create the maps, giving the game a mix of realism and fun from the navigator’s side.
The maps don’t have to be downloaded. They’ll also be available on the game’s official website after it launches, so players can look at them digitally, too.
Over the Radio is quite adorable from the pilot’s side, with a cozy yet minimalistic art style. Players can also relive specific flights with a replay feature to see what the other player was going through.
While it’s meant to be a local co-op venture, it can just as easily be played through a voice chat that offers streaming services, like Discord.
Over the Radio will be featured in Tokyo Game Show’s top 80 indie games. A statement from the developer discusses how their experience as a pilot in training shaped the game:
“This game was born from my own pilot training experience. I wanted to capture the challenge of radio communication and the fun of plotting flight routes on specialized maps, but make it more accessible and something people could enjoy together. Flying in the real world requires teamwork—this made me want to create a multiplayer flight game where players can experience that same feeling of collaboration. I wanted to create a game that delivers the excitement and thrill of flying—something casual yet cool.”
Over the Radio is available to wishlist on Steam now. There’s not a release date set, though Polygoose Studio is working hard for a 2026 release. Players can check out a few screenshots of the game below:
