A brand-new trailer opened up the showcase, showing off the Oilwell Basin and the village of Azuz. There, the Everforge burns on, and when it overflows, a mysterious monster known as the Black Flame threatens the village built around the great forge.

The trailer also showed off two new monsters: Rompopolo and Ajarakan. Rompopolo look like mosquitos that rise from oil-like debris. On the other hand, Ajarakan are active when fire comes around.

One of the most anticipated reveals was the open beta test. Monster Hunter fans were anticipating some sort of demo, and the test filled that space. The beta will feature three main parts: a character creator, a story trial, and a Doshaguma hunt.

The character creator will be the full thing, and characters can be created at any time during the beta. Players will be able to transfer their beta character and Palico to the full version of the game. The character creator is as in-depth as people expect, with the addition of a physique editor.

The story trial will show the opening cutscene of Monster Hunter Wilds, along with a combat tutorial. Players will take down Chatacabra through the tutorial as they gear up for the third part of the beta test.

The Doshaguma hunt takes players on a journey as they hunt down the alpha of a Doshaguma pack. This area, along with the story trial, will be multiplayer (with crossplay). Players can use flares to ask friends to join, and NPC hunters will come to aid the fight if no one online is available.

The Monster Hunter Wilds open beta test will run on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PC as follows:

  • PT: October 31 at 8 pm to November 3 at 6:59 pm
  • GMT: November 1 at 3 am to November 4 at 2:59 am

Additionally, PS Plus members will get exclusive early access to the beta:

  • PT: October 28 at 8 pm to October 30 at 7:59 pm (this time is adjusted for Daylight Savings)
  • GMT: October 29 at 3 am to October 31 at 2:59 am

Those participating in the open beta will get a special pendant to equip to their weapon or Seikret.

Additionally, two additional editions of the game were announced. The Deluxe Edition comes with a Deluxe DLC Pack, which includes a layered armor set and accessories for players, Palicos, and Seikrets. There are also more gestures, hairstyles, stickers, and makeup/face paint for characters, along with a special pendant and nameplate.

The Premium Deluxe Edition comes with all this plus more layered armor (in the form of elf ears); a special background, pose, and nameplate; and a music track. It will also get two extra cosmetic DLC packs, coming in Spring and Summer 2025.

All pre-orders will receive the Guild Knight layered armor set and a Hope Charm talisman. Plus, those who pre-order on the PlayStation Store will get a digital mini art book.

There are also bonuses for players who have save data from Monster Hunter World and the Iceborne DLC. Those with World data will get a Felyne Leather armor set, a Felyne Acorn Spade weapon, and the Extra Frame – World nameplate. Players with save data from the Iceborne DLC will also get a Felyne Duffel armor set, a Felyne Trekker Peckaxe weapon, and the Extra Frama – Iceborne nameplate.
