Hello Games has dropped the 6.0 update for No Man’s Sky, titled the Voyagers update. This update introduces fully customizable spaceships, called Corvettes.
Corvettes are available after completing their expedition. This mission will take players to the workshop to start customizing their Corvettes, as well as take them around the cosmos to get the parts needed to do so.
Not only do Corvettes have extensive technology to build, like landing gear, cockpits, engine parts, wings, and hulls, but there’s also a plethora of interiors to build/
These interiors impact how the player interacts with their Corvette. For example, if players add sleeping quarters, a nutrition unit, and more internal furniture, players can invite their friends on board.
If there’s a mission radar, then players can take their Corvette around while they adventure. The more weapons on the Corvette, the higher the player’s firepower.
Of course, there are plenty of customization options for Corvettes. Whether players want a sleek look with glass walls or bold ships full of color, there are options for a range of aesthetic styles.
Players can even walk around the hull of their ship, facing outer space for the first time in the game.
That’s not all — players who complete the Corvette expedition can claim a mecha-mouse to make their ship (or wheverer they are in the universe) feel like home.
These decisions and the existence of Corvettes in general have had an influence on nearly every part of No Man’s Sky. Hello Games explained this in a Steam post, adding that it took quite a long time to get over the hurdles of integrating Corvettes into No Man’s Sky.
