Today, Nintendo aired a new Nintendo Direct, and as usual, Nintendo of America and Europe decided some Japanese games didn’t deserve presenting to their Western audience.

Some of them certainly aren’t at all small or irrelevant. Not all are coming West, but some definitely will be released in North America and Europe, making the choice to skip them even more shocking.

While you can check out our recap of the Western Nintendo Direct in its dedicated article, and I could harp all day about Nintendo of America and Europe’s surprisingly bad taste in games, here you’ll be able to find information and trailers about those that have been skipped.

Let’s start with the most shocking omission: Super Robot Wars Y. The game, belonging to one of Bandai Namco’s most storied strategy simulation RPG franchises, is indeed coming west and will release in 2025 for Nintendo Switch and PC (the Steam page is already available).

According to the press release from Bandai Namco, it’ll include characters and robots from several well-known anime like Cmbattler V, Aura Battler Dunbine, Mobile Fighter G Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury (Season 1), Majestic Prince, Macross Delta: Passionate Walküre, Code Geass Lelouch of the Re;surrection, Getter Robo Arc, and more.

You can check out the trailer below.

The next game skipped in the Western direct is Project:;COLD case.mirage, also published by Bandai Namco. It’s a desktop mystery adventure game coming to Nintendo Switch and Steam.

It’s actually releasing in a few hours (at 7:00 a.m. Japan time on March 28), but it may be available only in Japanese.

More games were skipped during the “quick” sections of the Nintendo Direct.

The first includes Rusty Rabbit, coming on April 17, 2025 for PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch (including the West), Sanryo Characters: Miracle Match, releasing today on Switch, Winning Post 10 2025, also coming today for PS5, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch, and Star Overdrive, which was actually included in the western Nintendo Direct.

We also see All in Abyss: Judge the Fake, coming on April 10 (also for the West) for Nintendo Switch, PS5, and PC, an The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy by the creators of Danganronpa, coming to PC and Switch on April 24.

Funnily, The Hundred Line is also coming West and it’s the second time the Western arms of Nintendo skip it. They must really dislike this one.

The second “quick” section included Super Technos World: River City & Technos Arcade Classics, which is coming on April 24 for Nintendo Switch, PS5, and PC, including the West, and Tokimeki Memorial: Forever With You – Emotional, which is coming for the Switch on May 8, 2025 and earns itself the second skip on a Nintendo Direct. Unfortunately, this one doesn’t appear to be coming west (and it’s a real sin considering that it’s the remaster of the grandaddy of dating sims).

We then get to see Capcom Fighting Collection 2, coming on May 16, 2025, for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch, West included, and Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, which was included in the Western Direct.

Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Battle Destiny Remastered is coming on May 22 for PC and Nintendo Switch, while Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny will release the day after on May 23, 2025, for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Both are coming to North America and Europe despite the fact that Nintendo decided to skip them in the Western Direct, for some reason.

We also see Ys Memoire: Memories of Celceta, which is coming to the Switch in Japan on May 22.
