New Virtua Fighter Game Reveals First Spectacular Combat Gameplay

New Virtua Fighter Project

Today, during the celebrations for EVO 2025 in Las Vegas, Sega revealed the first combat gameplay of the upcoming new Virtua Fighter game.

We get to see Akira Yuki and Sarah Bryant taking each other on, and let’s just say that Virtua Fighter’s poster boy will have to book a dentist visit and eat soft food for a few days.

Other than that, the trailer looks quite exciting. The developers mentioned on stage that they worked very hard to have gameplay ready to show at EVO.

We also hear that more details about the game (which for now is simply codenamed “New Virtua Fighter Project”) will be shared at Tokyo Game Show 2025.

You can watch the trailer below.

If you’re wondering, Tokyo Game Show 2025 will happen between September 25 and September 28 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, near Tokyo. Simulation Daily will be on the show floor, so you’ll definitely be able to read more about the game right here.

If you want to see and hear more about the New Virtua Fighter Project, you can check out the reveal of Wolf Hawkfield and another behind-the-scenes video.

If you can’t wait for the new game to be out, we also got news about  Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage, which will release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 30, 2025. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also confirmed to be coming at a later date.

Dural is also coming as a DLC, while a closed beta on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC will come soon, and specifically in early September.
