Earlier this morning, Mages announced remasters of the beloved visual novels Never 7: The End of Infinity and Ever 17: The Out of Infinity, and now Spike Chunsoft followed up with a press release revealing that they’re coming west.
Both visual novels will launch in North America and Europe on March 6, 2025, for PC via Steam, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. Impressively, this is at the same time as the Japanese release.
Originally released respectively in 2000 and 2002, they’re the first two visual novels of the Infinity series, written by Kotaro Uchikoshi of Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward, and AI: The Somnium Files fame.
Neither was ever localized in English before, but the wait that lasted over two decades for Uchikoshi-san’s fans is about to end.
Below you can check out trailers for both visual novels, released by Mages earlier today.
If you’re unfamiliar with the stories, here’s an official blurb for Never 7: The End of Infinity.
To the promise we once made and the place we must return
The protagonist, Makoto Ishihara, had the worst possible awakening. He had a dream in which a girl died a tragic death right in front of his eyes. The seminar training camp was supposed to go off without a hitch…or so Makoto believed.
April 6th.. The day everything changed.
The uneasiness turned in to despair, and the premonition turned into calamity…
Will Makoto be able to stop the tragedy and see the light of the morning on Day 7?
And here’s what you can expect from Ever 17: The Out of Infinity
Save me from this cage of infinity
Takeshi Kuranari, an ordinary college student, visits the underwater theme park LeMU. An accident occurs, trapping Takeshi and 6 other individuals inside LeMU, 51 meters below the surface. With no hope of rescue, Takeshi explores LeMU along with the mysterious girl Tsugumi and part-time employee You, searching for a way to escape to the surface.
A theme park of dreams and hopes sunk in the depths of the mysterious blue ocean.
Can dreams and hopes still be found there? Or is there some other mystery lurking?
Overcoming one crisis after another, they search for a way to escape.
Never 7 will be priced individually at $19.99, while Ever 17 will be priced at $29.99. A “Double Pack” release will also be available at $44.99.
Voiceovers will be available only in Japanese while text will be in English, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese.
This appears to be a golden age for the return of beloved visual novel series, with Mages itself announcing a reboot of Steins;Gate, Aquaplus announcing a remake of To Heart, and the localization of Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien finally arriving after 23 years.
