Nascar Euro Series and iRacing announced a new partnership today, bringing the EuroNascar car to iRacing while adding iRacing to every competing car in the Nascar Euro Series.
The EuroNascar car blends the best of American and European racing in its V8 vehicle to create a “raw, mechanical” feeling, according to the press release from iRacing. While this is great for fans, it’s even better for those training to join the Nascar Euro Series. A realistic version of the vehicle gives them a way to train, and for many modern-day racers, it’s becoming a pathway to real-life racing.
There’s no release date for the EuroNascar car, but it will be available in the near future.
There are already several EuroNascar tracks in iRacing. Right now, Brands Hatch (UK), Motorsport Arena Oschersleben (Germany), and Circuit Zolder (Belgium) are all in iRacing, and Spain’s Circuit Ricardo Tormo is coming in the future.
The partnership was already teased a bit at Brands Hatch during the Nascar GP UK. At the time, iRacing had already been added to the cars in the competition.
Jerome Galpin, the President of the Nascar Euro Series, shared his excitement for the partnership:
“We’re thrilled to partner with iRacing and give our fans, drivers, and simracers the opportunity to experience the unique feel of a EuroNASCAR car. This collaboration is a fantastic way to share our vision of Pure Racing with a global audience and open the door to new talents and future champions.”
Similarly, iRacing President Tony Gardner also shared great excitement for the partnership:
“We have a long and deep relationship with NASCAR and we are excited to extend our partnership to the NASCAR Euro Series brand of motorsport. Our global membership of 325,000 members is going to love racing the V8 powered cars at some of Europe’s finest tracks on iRacing.
Sim racing and the actual sport of racing have long had close ties. It’s not uncommon for pro sim racers to transition to racing in real life, as is the case recently with eNascar Coca-Cola iRacing Series pro sim racer Garrett Lower. Plus, many real-life racers take up sim racing on the side.
The ties between iRacing and Nascar don’t end there. iRacing is currently planning to release Nascar 25 in the fall, a standalone Nascar racing sim for PC consoles. Additionally, iRacing recently refreshed the Nascar tracks that are based in the US.
