Today, Taleworlds released another extensive gameplay preview of the War Sails expansion for Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord.
This is rather different compared to what we’ve seen before. Not only do the factions change, and today we get to see Khuzaits and the new Nord faction, but this time around, we’re not sailing on the open sea, but within the confines of an inland river.
One thing is for sure: this is one of the most spectacular and immersive medieval naval battle simulations I’ve ever seen, and I’m incredibly excited to play it.
We get to see plenty of combat, both from range and in melee, after ships are boarded. The video also shows ramming and setting enemy ships on fire, which looks really realistic. It’s impressive how well it appears to run despite the complexity of the scene.
You can check it out below, and you can see if you feel the same way as I do.
If you’re unfamiliar with Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord, it’s a sandbox RPG mixing strategy, management, and first-person combat in delightful ways.
The War Sails expansion, which will add a whole new layer of gameplay with naval warfare, will release on November 26. It’ll be priced at $24.99 or €24.99, depending on where you live.
It’s coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 at the same time.
It’s worth mentioning that the expansion will also bring a whole new faction, the Viking-inspired Nords. The map will also change rather considerably to accommodate the new naval gameplay.
