Monster Hunter Wilds Director Yuya Tokuda wrote directly to players, giving them news about upcoming content like the Street Fighter 6 collaboration and other stuff coming in the next updates.
To start with, Tokuda-san thanked players for playing Monster Hunter Wilds and discussed the Street Fighter 6 special collaboration. The collaboration includes special armor sets and a new challenger, Akuma.
The special armor sets include the Akyma full armor set and the Akuma layered armor. If either of these is equipped, players will get three items added to the Item Bar: Assisted Combo: Akuma, Drive Impact, and Hadoken.
Assisted Combo: Akuma is an item that will activate different moves when pulling off combos. Drive Impact is a chargeable move item that will activate the Shon Goku Satsu attack. This can stun enemies.
If you have either of the full armor sets equipped, then these attacks will dish out even more damage.
The Monster Hunter Wilds and Street Fighter 6 collaboration will be coming with Version 1.011. That same update will see eight-star difficulty monster fights for Gore Magala, Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad.
These increased difficulty fights will have higher health, resistance to rounding, and increased multiplayer scaling difficulty.
There are also a few quality-of-life improvements with quests, including the following:
- Higher-difficulty quests will appear more as your HR increases
- Spawn rates of quests with multiple monsters will increase
- Spawn rates of quests with higher strength ratings will increase
- Hunters will be able to rest at the Grand Hub and Suja, Peaks of Accord
- Obtained items will automatically go to the item box when inventory is full
- Meal time effect visibility will be improved
- Stability updates and improvements
- Hammer, Hunting Horn, Gunlance, Light Bowgun, and Heavy Bowgun will have balance changes
Additionally, players can look forward to the new Endemic Life feature, where players can look at all the creatures and wildlife players have found. This works for everything players have caught, regardless of whether they still have it in their inventory or not. There are different sizes and patterns to collect, and players can work at finding them all.
Beyond Monster Hunter Wilds Version 1.011 is Title Update 2. This will also include new monsters and new eight-star fights, including an Arch-tempered monster. Other changes in Title Update 2 will include balance changes for the Hammer and Dual Blades. Other updates at this time will include the following:
- Improved Seikrets
- Skill detail UI improvements
- New Photo Mode options
- Layered weapons
