This time around, we get to take a look at the Heavy Bowgun, which is a good choice if you prefer to tackle your monsters from a relative distance. Do keep in mind that in Monster Hunter games, you won’t snipe your targets from hundreds of meters away, hence “relative.”

You’ll be able to fire special ammo in ignition mode by spending energy, which will regenerate by landing normal hits. The gun’s shield also lets you guard incoming attacks manually on top of the auto-guard function.

Of course, you can also use focus mode (which we saw yesterday) to target existing wounds and inflict even more damage.

Monster Hunter Wilds is a successor of the super-popular Monster Hunter World released in 2018. One of the most interesting aspects of World, which will be brought back in Wilds, is the extensive ecosystem simulation that will see monsters live their lives and interact with each others in a realistic and complex way.

In the new game, we’ll also see changes to this ecosystem due to climate, with moments in which conditions are harsh and hostile, while others in which areas are vibrant and brimming with life, affecting the life of monsters and their herds.

Monster Hunter Wilds is coming in 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
