NCSoft has revealed Horizon Steel Frontiers, a new MMORPG set in the Horizon universe.
The announcement comes at G-Star 2025, a game conference in Korea, where NCSoft revealed the game with an action-packed trailer and commentary from developers.
Horizon Steel Frontiers will focus on the same hunting-action and survival gameplay that the other Horizon games do, combined with standard MMO elements like customizable combat and player freedom. It’ll be launching globally at the same time with cross-platform progression between mobile devices and PC (ironically enough, there are no official plans for a PlayStation release at this point).
Fans can look forward to large-scale raids that are unique to Horizon Steel Frontiers, taking down the same sort of mechanical creatures that the series is known for. In fact, it’s being developed in collaboration with Guerrilla Games, a studio under Sony Interactive Entertainment that developed the other Horizon games.
The announcement video for the upcoming MMORPG can be watched below, where players can see a bit of gameplay along with commentary from several of the game’s developers:
NCSoft also released a gameplay trailer, where players can check out combat, exploration, and traversal mechanics. Of course, the game’s gorgeous environment is on display at the same time, and there’s even a glimpse of what looks like a raid battle. Fans can check it out below:
There’s no release date or window yet for Horizon Steel Frontiers‘ launch.
