Bad Ridge Games has revealed that Mirthwood, the medieval life-sim-slash-RPG, is getting a co-op update on July 10, 2025.

This update will include local split-screen co-op and Steam Remote Play, giving players a chance to have local drop-in/out multiplayer. This will include shared world progression, though players will have autonomy over their own characters. The second player will have full access to their own inventory, skill progression, farming, riding, and more.

Players will also be able to marry each other and raise a family together in Mirthwood. These children will grow up and eventually leave the nest after inheriting skills from both players, becoming their own adult NPCs.

Additionally, a new revival mechanic will be added. This lets players rescue their fallen friends in combat.

That’s not all — a few new additions are coming with the co-op update. These include a new directional attack indicator, a lock-on system, and more. There are also new farm structures and items coming with the co-op update.

The Mirthwood co-op update was revealed in a trailer last month, teasing the idea of co-op without giving any information about a release date.

When the co-op update is released, it will not include online co-op. However, Bad Ridge Games plans to release this in the future, though there’s no release window yet.

Players can check out several screenshots of the update below:
