The news was showcased during a panel at FlightSimExpo 2025 in Providence, Rhode Island.

Below you can find the updated roadmap for 2025 and the beginning of 2026.

Microsoft Flight Simulator Militech Roadmap

As you can see, there is still an unannounced aircraft. That one will be revealed in September.

Of course, the biggest news is the reveal of a new aircraft, the Vietnam War-era Douglas A-1H Skyraider, created from the model originally made by Blackbird Simulations, which you can see at the top of the post.

It’ll come in the late summer and it’ll include the following features.

  • Stunning 3D Models crafted by Blackbird Simulations
  • Ultra-realistic soundpack by Echo 19, created from extensive real aircraft recordings.
  • Fully configurable Weapons Systems, with over 8 weapon options to choose from – including the famous toilet bomb.
  • Simulated AN/APS-6 radar
  • Wing Fold, Simulated Prop Damage, etc.
  • We are also looking at Vietnam-Era Carrier Packs :hint hint:

We then take a good look at the upcoming Sikorsky MH-60 helicopter, and we learn that it’ll release in July and will be priced at $37.99 for three variants plus 4 dedicated sceneries. We also get to see the first animated trailer and new screenshots.

Innterestingly, we learn a bit more about the progress of the project from its inception, as follows.

  • In partnership with Blackbird Simulations
  • They initially created the Sierra variant
  • Was initially a single-variant product
  • And then… Feature Creep happened!
  • Had the opportunity to see a Romeo in action, and that meant adding Romeo (and by extension, ASW, Sonobuoys, Sonodippers, etc.)
  • Noticed the popularity for the Tango (Jayhawk), so decided to add it as well
  • A “March Release” eventually became July.
  • However, we believe this is our best product to date

Of course, a big feature coming with the MH-60 is the Mission Hub, which has actually absorbed the previously Aerial Refueling Pro, which was announced last year and has been canceled as a stand-alone product.

Microsoft Flight Simulator Militech Mission Hub

You can expect the following features.

  • Mission Hub is flexible, expandable, universal, and aircraft-agnostic Mission/Campaign
    Editor within Microsoft Flight Simulator.
  • Fully independent from FS24 Career Mode
  • Trigger – Action Framework, inspired by DCS and Arma3
    • Supporting a wide range of missions:
    • Firefighting
    • Search and Rescue
    • Antisubmarine Warfare
    • Vertical Replenishment and Transport of Cargo
    • Shipborne Missions
  • Future Mission types: Aerial Refueling, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, Tactical Campaigns
  • Both a Sandbox for mission creation & Engine for Mission Execution
    • Open SDK for Devs – Create and distribute your own mission packages
    • Future: Mission Sharing platform, Multiplayer Support*
  • Library of 3D Assets
    • Naval Assets: USCG Cutters, Frigates, Submarines, Cruise Ships, Tankers, International Navies
    • Library of SimObject, Rescue Scenes, Firing Ranges…

We also hear more about the Sikorsky CH-53 Sea Stallion

  • Scheduled for release Q4 25′ – Q1 26′
  • Currently single-variant (E) but may expand scope to include other variants as well
  • Sling Load capability
  • At least one FREE Scenery Included
    • MCAS New River
    • More may be added as scope expands
  • Mission system fully integrated with Mission Hub.
    • Aerial Refueling

Last, but not least, we learn more about the Lockheed U-2 spy plane, and we get to see a couple of screenshots.

  • Scheduled for release Q4 25′
  • Two variants (S-Glass Cockpit and R-Analog)
  • Extensive simulation of the avionics systems
  • Camera systems are simulated within the limitations of the sim
  • Chase Car + Audio, Pogo Wheels
    4 Sceneries Included (FREE):
    • Akrotiri
    • Area 51 Circa 1970s
    • Osan
    • Fairford
  • Mission system fully integrated with Mission Hub.
