Blacksmith: Ignite the Forge Release Date Announced

The developer announced during a panel that it will release a high-end Airbus A340-600 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and MSFS 2024, albeit the release may be staggered. Perhaps the most exciting part of the announcement is that the systems and flight model are developed by Toliss, known for its high-quality Airbus aircraft for X-Plane.

The flight model has been developed in collaboration with real pilots and the University of Montréal. While a release date has not been announced, it should come this year.

The aircraft will come with the following features:

  • Deep System Simulation – Simulates multiple failure scenarios, hydraulic/electrical logic, and complex operational behaviors.
  • Fully Custom FMGS – Includes full VNAV guidance, go-around procedures, and alternate routing support.
  • Custom Flight Model – Built to bypass core MSFS limitations, ensuring accurate long-haul behavior and fuel prediction.
  • Situation Save & Load – Autosaving, in-flight recovery, and waypoint-jumping capabilities.

It’s worth mentioning that while Toliss mentioned that they hope this is the first of many aircraft they develop for MSFS, it’s an Aerosoft product, and Toliss as a brand remains dedicated to X-Plane, with projects in the works for two years.

You can check out a trailer below.

We also got to take a look at the Airbus A330neo. Aerosoft mentioned on Stage that the previous A330ceo had to be launched with old code due to a partnership with the German government, but the A330neo will include new code and will be of much higher quality.

Said code will then eventually make its way to the CEO version.

It’ll include the following features:

  • Highly detailed 3D model including cabin and liveries
  • Comprehensive aircraft systems: IRS, brake temp, etc.
  • Custom autopilot w/ LNAV & VNAV
  • Custom MCDU & EFB w/ navigraph, perf calc & state loading

You can check out a trailer below. Both the A330neo and the A340 will come this year, in this order. The A330neo is described as more beginner-friendly compared to the A340.

Lastly, we also heard about airports. The plans remain pretty much the same announced a while ago, with an optimization update for Frankfurt, Stuttgart, and Paris Charles de Gaulle coming for Microsoft Flight Simulator, but we also get the announcement that Frankfurt is coming for X-Plane 12 as well.

All should be released by the end of the year.
