The sim will launch for PS5 on December 8, and pre-orders are already available.

The PS5 version will have the four editions previously released on PC and Xbox: standard, deluxe, premium deluxe, and aviator, priced respectively at $69.99, $99.99, $129.99, and $199.99.

Here at Simulation Daily, we said long ago that a PS5 port for MSFS 2024 would make perfect sense, so we’re happy to welcome you to this awesome hobby, PlayStation gamers! Grab a seat, a nice cup of coffee, and stick around for our extensive daily coverage on the simulator.

Below you can check out a breakdown of the aircraft included in the first three editions, while the Aviator Edition also includes all the DLC aircraft previously launched for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.

We also have an official list of features:

  • Up to 125 highly detailed aircraft, more than 40,000 airports and runways, over 2,000 glider airports, and over 80,000 helipads
  • A franchise-first career system that builds skills and provides access to missions in firefighting, search and rescue, aerial construction, agriculture and more
  • Experiences like landing challenges, rally races, low altitude challenges, World Photographer mode, and a new Challenge League
  • For the first time, players will be able to break the sound barrier in America’s first civil supersonic jet, Boom Supersonic’s demonstrator XB-1
  • Exclusively on PlayStation 5: Application of immersive DualSense controller features like adaptive triggers (respond to speed, surface types, sloped resistance) and controller speaker (air traffic control communications)

Those who pre-order will also receive a Northrop T-38A Talon, while pre-ordering the Deluxe, Premium Deluxe, or Aviator Editions will grant you early access on December 3.

The sim fully supports the DualSense Controller’s features, including adaptive triggers, speaker, light bar, gyro controls, and customizable touchpad.

PS5 Pro is supported, while PlayStation VR2 support will be added with a free update in 2026.

Interestingly, there is news for virtual pilots on PC and Xbox as well, as coinciding with the PS5 launch, Boom Supersonic’s demonstrator XB-1 will be added to the sim for everyone.

Incidentally, a beta on PS5 will be hosted soon and if you want in, you can register via Microsoft’s insider portal.

It’s worth mentioning that this is an actual beta designed to test the simulator, and it’s not a demo representative of its final quality.

If you’d like to see what the simulator looks like on Sony’s console, you can check out a trailer showing gameplay captured on PS5 Pro.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is already available for PC and Xbox Series X|S. If you’d like to learn more, you can check out our recent interview with Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator Jorg Neumann.
