Today, PMDG released the last aircraft of its Boeing triple-7 line for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and MSFS 2020, the Boeing 777-200LR.

The aircraft is currently available on PMDG’s own store for $49.99, and you get versions for both simulators with a single surprise. The aircraft comes with 13 lveries and you can read its extensive range of features on its store page.

Availability on the official marketplaces for both simulators will follow sometime in August.

The price is singnificantly lower compared to the rest of the line, the 777-300ER, the 777-200ER, and the 777 freighter.

This is likely because the 200LR, while very interesting due to its power and range, is also one of the least popular among the triple-7 variants in the real world. Only 61 have been built and delivered, and even less fly today.

This is a policy that PMDG already appliedn to the 737 line, with the 737-600 priced significantly lower than the rest, for those who want a more affordable entry point into flying the type.

It’s worth mentioning that, like all PMDG aircraft, the 777-200LR features advanced study-level simulation, and it’s likely not suitable for beginners, unless you’re willing to spend quite some time pouring over manuals and tutorials to master it.

You can find quite a few images below.

PMDG also shared other miscellaneous news accompanying this release. First of all, all the 777s have been updated to build 116.

The 300ER, 200ER, and freighter versions should also appear in the official Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 marketplace at some point today. They have not yet at the moment of this writing.

Update: this did not happen, and unfortunately, PMDG isn’t yet aware of the reason at the moment of this writing.

Incidentally, there has been a snag with Microsoft about the distribution of liveries to Xbox users at no additional cost, and the developer is working it out with Microsoft itself. CEO Robert Randazzo promised that he’ll keep us informed.

We also hear that “much of the 2024 native retooling has been accomplished” for the upgrade of the 737ng line to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and now the developers are deep into the work on upgrades.

The speed of development of the 747 line is also going to “increase measurably.” Currently, the -100 and -400 versions are in active development and it’s not yet kown which one will be ready for release first. New screenshots will come, but not immediately.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is available for PC and Xbox Series X|S.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is also available for the same platforms. If you want to see the massive visual difference against Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, you can enjoy our video and screenshot comparison.
