Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 for PS5 – Grand Canyon Trench Run: Can the PlayStation 5 Keep Up?

An A-10 Thunderbolt 2 attack jet flying close to the rocks in the Grand Canyon in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on PS5, with PS5, Simulation Daily, and MSFS 2024 logos and "A-10 Grand Canyon Run on PS5" title.

The PS5 version of Microsoft Flight Simulator is just a few days from its release, and today we’re bringing you with us to the Grand Canyon.

We’re not just flying any aircraft in the canyon, but we’re doing a trench run as low and as fast as possible with the legendary A-10Thunderbolt II attack jet.

No “Brrrt” this time, but expect plenty of cliff‑skimming, rock‑hugging action.

Of course, we’re not doing this just for fun (although it is a lot of fun), but we’re testing how the base PS5 behaves in one of MSFS 2024’s most visually demanding environments. Will it keep up, or will it crash and burn?

Banter aside, you can watch the video below. Of course, we’d appreciate it if you could like it and subscribe to our growing YouTube channel, as that’s always extremely helpful and appreciated.

Incidentally, you should stay tuned for one of our upcoming videos, because we’ll give the PS5 a much tougher challenge. While this tests the hardware quite intensively, it’s not comparable to the advanced and complex avionics of an airliner, which really hammer that RAM and CPU.

So we’ll try to fly an Airbus A321, and we’ll see how Sony’s console handles that. Will it hold up? We’ll see.

It’s worth mentioning that a pre-release copy of the simulator was provided to Simulation Daily by Xbox for the purpose of our coverage.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is currently available for PC and Xbox Series X|S. It’ll be released for PS5 on December 8, 2025.
