Today, a brand-new hybrid medieval fantasy kingdom builder, management sim, and dungeon crawler RPG has been revealed. The indie title is Dungeons and Kingdoms, and it is being created by solo developer Uncle Grouch Gaming and published by Camlann Games.
In Dungeons and Kingdoms, players are placed in a rich fantasy world featuring highly customizable structure building, terrain manipulation, deep colonist management, and rewarding third-person dungeon-delving combat. You take control of the leader of a small group of refugees fleeing from their homeland. To survive, you’ll have to build a new life for everyone off the land, facing dangerous dungeons and monsters to get the resources you need to grow.
Some of the unique gameplay features being touted by Uncle Grouch Gaming for Dungeons and Kingdoms can be seen below:
- Stylized, mid-poly graphics
- Deep building customization
- Terrain manipulation (build moats, elevated strong points, etc.)
- Unique settler management mechanics
- Rewarding ARPG dungeon crawling to battle fierce monsters, loot unique resources, and tech up for new kingdom upgrades
Dungeons and Kingdoms is set to arrive in Early Access in either Q4 2024 or Q1 2025, depending on the response from players after the demo showcase during either the October 2024 or February 2025 Steam Next Fest. It will eventually be available for both Steam and GOG.
