MechWarrior 5: Clans released a new trailer at gamescom 2024, showing off the various environments and mech customizations amidst the gameplay.
The trailer shows off how players can customize Mechs, and it’s a complex system. Each area has different upgrades and weapons that can be purchased. Players will need to adjust their Mechs for every mission to make the most of the upgrades. These customizations tie in with the pilot progression system, as well.
While being strategic is important before going into a fight, actually fighting well is just as vital. The gameplay in the trailer shows the heart-pounding action and the environments where it all takes place.
Natural environments mixed with Mech action come together to create an almost dystopian futuristic world. The trailer shows off sprawling forests, arid wastelands, and luscious mountains. Of course, there’s plenty of tech in the middle of it all that fans would expect with a mech game.
MechWarrior 5: Clans is the first MechWarrior game in years that’s focused on narrative. Players will be able to play solo or with four other friends in cross-play. There’s also over 90 minutes of cinematics, which the trailer briefly shows off.
Players are new pilots who are key to winning battles against a tyrannical leader. The goal is to restore humanity and honor Clan Smoke Jaguar. Luckily, players don’t need prior knowledge of the MechWarrior games, making it perfect for newcomers and veterans alike.
