Today, developer Vermillion Digital announced the official release date of its mecha action RPG M.A.S.S. Builder.
The game has been in early access on Steam for six years, since September 2019, but it’s now ready for its version 1.0.0.
Specifically, it’ll happen on September 14, which will be exactly six years and one day since the initial launch.
The main selling point of M.A.S.S. Builder is the extreme level of customization that you can apply to your mecha, or M.A.S.S. (Mechanical Assault Skeleton Suit), hence the title.
There are 38 customizable areas that you can pick parts for, and the enormous availability of options (several hundred) for these parts means that basically no two mecha will be the same.
Of course, the customization is both functional and visual, so you can make your robot unique in both ways.
The player takes on the role of the commander of a private military company, helping out against the threats of beastly aliens named Quarks, who are attacking humanity in unstoppable hordes.
Combat and movement are very fast, thanks to the mecha’s boosters that let you zip around the battlefield and dominate the slower Quarks while they try to overwhelm you with numbers.
Of course, building and customizing your mecha isn’t all there is to the game, as there’s a full-fledged story campaign to enjoy M.A.S.S. Builder’s sci-fi world.
If you’re interested in more mecha games, Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion was just released a couple of days ago, while the Muv-Luv strategy RPG, Muv-Luv Tactics: Nightmare of Kalidasa is also coming soon.
