The Nintendo Direct on March 27, which was announced yesterday, held quite a few announcements and trailers for fans, including news about the brand-new Virtual Game Card and the Nintendo Today app.
To kick things off, the Nintendo Direct started with another Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D Remake trailer from Square Enix. It will also release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Next up was a horror survival/mystery game from Spike Chunsoft, No Sleep for Kaname Date from AI: The Somnium Files, which will be released on July 25, 2025 on Switch and PC.
Atlus revealed that Raidou Remastered: The Master of the Soulless Army is coming June 19, 2025. It’s also releasing on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Bandai Namco revealed a trailer for Shadow Labyrinth, the upcoming platformer that takes a dark turn on Pac-Man. It will be released on July 18, 2025 and is also coming to PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
Patapon 1+2 from Bandai Namco are headed to the Switch on July 11, 2025 Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC.
Marvelous revealed that Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar is getting a remake, which will be released on August 27, 2025 on Switch and PC.
Samus is returning with Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which will be coming later this year from Nintendo.
Disney Villains Cursed Cafe from Disney Games takes players on a journey as a witch running a coffee shop for various villains, which will be released later today. It’s also releasing on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
Chucklefish revealed Witchbrook, a game where players experience magical academy life, which will be available Holiday Season 2025. It’s also coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC.
THQ Nordic revealed a new trailer for The Eternal Life of Goldman this Holiday Season. It’s also heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Gradius Origins from Konami brings several of the franchise’s games to the Switch, along with a new entry, Salamander 3, on August 7. It will also release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Brace Yourself Games is bringing Rift of the Nerodancer to the Switch, which will also come with Celeste DLC, later today.
Tamagotchi Plaza from Bandai Namco was announced, which will feature a ton of stores that are reminiscent of the DS games Tamagotchi Connection on June 27, 2025.
A new trailer for Pokémon Legends: Z-A was shown off, showing off a few more Pokémon and character designs that fans hadn’t seen before. There was also an announcement of Z-A Royale, a series of battle trainers and tournaments that come out at night. Pokémon Legends: Z-A is set to release in 2025.
Rhythm Heaven Groove from Nintendo was revealed, which will come out in 2026 and is the first new game in the series in 10 years.
Nintendo also revealed the Virtual Game Card. The best thing about this is that you can “eject” and “load” the virtual game card on another system. This essentially lets players share games they’ve bought digitally. It should be coming later next month.
High on Life from Squanch Games is coming May 6, 2025.
Star Overdrive from Dear Villagers, which was announced in a Nintendo Direct Partner Presentation last year, got a new trailer and is coming to the Switch on April 10, 2025. The game is also coming to PC and PlayStation 5.
The Wandering Village from Stray Fawn got a new trailer and a release date announcement of July 17, 2025 for the Switch.
Glowmade’s King of Meat is coming to the Switch later this year, as well as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. You can see our preview of King of Meat here.
Lou’s Lagoon from Megabit Publishing got a short trailer, and it’ll be released Summer 2025. It’s also coming to PlayStation 5 and PC.
Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time from Level5 got a brief trailer, and it’ll be available on May 21, 2025 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, too.
Square Enix revealed that SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered is coming to Nintendo Switch with new events later today. It’s also available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, iOS, and Android.
Monument Valley and Monument Valley 2 from ustwo games are coming to the Switch on April 15, 2025. Additionally, Monument Valley 3 will be coming in the Summer.
Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots from Bandai Namco was announced and is coming later this year on PlayStation 5 and PC as well.
Marvel Cosmic Invasions from Dotemu is coming this Holiday Season. It’ll release on Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The March 27 Nintendo Direct finished with an announcement for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, which will come out in 2026.
Shigeru Miyamoto thanked players for watching, and gave a surprise announcement at the end. He revealed Nintendo Today, which is basically a hub for all things Nintendo. It launched today, and anyone with a Nintendo account can use the app.
