Today, Manor Lords released a behind-the-scenes look at what they’ve been working on these past few months, including plenty of new features and improvements.
One of the biggest changes coming in the near future is an affinity system that provides a more in-depth relational system between buildings and other buildings, as well as between buildings and their environments. To solve the issue of Manor Lords’ flexible plot system, developers Slavic Magic are assigning Affinities to buildings and environment types, including Meadow, Woodland, Farmland, Rural, and Urban.
An example of this is how Apiaries will benefit from a large Woodland area in the Region. Some buildings can also buff the Affinities of other buildings, such as how Apiaries can enhance the existing effect that Pollination Orchards receive from Meadows.
New shop fronts and artisan workstations can also be seen in the images below:
A new map called Divided is also in the works for Manor Lords, featuring east and west sides that are divided by a small mountain range (the region’s names have not been decided yet). Other upcoming changes, like new see-through fortifications and a development perk card styles, can be seen here.
Back in April 2024, Manor Lords crossed a couple of impressive thresholds for copies sold, hitting a million in sales just 48 hours after its release into early access and a second million just three weeks later. Momentum has continued to build since then, as the medieval city-builder crossed the 3 million sold mark back in February 2025.
Manor Lords is currently available in early access for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store for $39.99.
