If you’re a veteran fan of the Like a Dragon/Yakuza series, you likely know Toshihiro Nagoshi, who was at the helm of the franchise until his departure from Sega in 2021.

After that, Nagoshi-san moved to Netease Games to form Nagoshi Studio, which is now celebrating its third anniversary.

While we still don’t know anything about the games Nagoshi Studio is working on, Nagoshi-san himself penned a message to celebrate the anniversary, reminiscing on the past three years.

Three years ago the studio had just a handful of people and didn’t have a landline, let alone a server. They spent all of their time planning and looking for staff.

The studio gradually started to take shape six months later, but Nagoshi-san and his developers still didn’t know what the future held. They were supported by the passion for their dreams and the staff that came together to turn them into a reality.

Now they have completed the expansion of their offices and they have over 80 skilled developers. While they’re still in the process of creating their game before they can show it to the world, they continue working hard on it every day.

The increase in staff and the pursuit of a game that would be in line with the times is pushing the team to incorporate changes in technology and workflows, which isn’t easy, but their belief in the value of each staff member remains unchanged. As such, they will continue to pursue their lofty ambitions.

We also get an interesting video on top of embodying the studio’s commitment to creating and portraying people.

The goal portrayed by the video is to be a studio that creates games that only they can create and inspires gamers around the world with top-notch human drama.

Incidentally, the song is performed by Hip-hop artist BBY NABE with lyrics by Toshihiro Nagoshi himself.
