League of Legends 2024 World Championships September 25-29 Play-Ins Roundup

The Play-Ins week of the League of Legends 2024 World Championships has finished – here’s a roundup of the intense games.

The first week of Play-Ins had two matches each day, with both being best-of-three games. Four teams moved to compete on the Worlds stage, which will start kicking off again later this week on October 3. 

Wednesday, September 25 was the first day of League of Legends Worlds Play-Ins. Mad Lions KOI and Vikings Esports kicked things off, with game one going to MDK:

Game two looked similar, and MDK ultimately took the match:

The second game that day was between PSG Talon and paiN Gaming. Game one went to PNG:

Game two looked different for both teams, and PSG came out on top:

The intense fight for game three went to PSG, giving them the match:

Thursday, September 26 started day two with a match between GAM Esports and Fukuoka SoftBank HAWKS gaming. The first game went to GAM:

Game two also went in GAM’s favor, winning them the match:

The second match of the day was between 100 Thieves and Movistar R7. Game one went to 100 Thieves:

However, R7 was able to turn the tide and win game two:

The third game also went to R7, securing them the match:

Friday, September 27 kicked off with a match between Mad Lions KOI and PSG Talon. The first game went to MDK:

PSG flipped the script and won game two:

MDK came back and won game three, securing the match:

The second match of the day was between GAM Esports and Movistar R7. GAM took game one:

GAM also took game two, winning the match:

The first match of Saturday, September 28 was between paiN Gaming and Viking Esports. PNG took the first game:

Game two also went to PNG, securing the match for the team:

Fukuoka SoftBank HAWKS gaming and 100 Thieves took the stage for the second match, with 100 Thieves coming out on top of game one:

100 Thieves also won game two, winning the match:

Sunday, September 29 ended the first week of League of Legends 2-24 World Championships Play-Ins. The first match was between paiN Gaming and Movistar R7, where R7 won game one:

PNG turned things around in game two, taking the win:

Game three also went to PNG, letting PNG take the match:

The last match was between PSG Talon and 100 Thieves, where PSG took game one:

PSG also took game two, winning them the match:
