Today Warhorse Studios announced that official mod support for the popular RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is coming.
Specifically, according to the announcement made on X (formerly Twitter) the game is getting mod support via Steam’s modding platform Steamworks.
Details are scarce for now, but the developer has shared a fairly humorous poster that certainly celebrates the spirit of some less… serious mods, as you can see below.

If you’re unfamiliar with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, it’s a hardcore action RPG set in medieval Bohemia, recently released for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
It debuted strong with almost 160,000 concurrent players on Steam at its peak on its first day, and it has since broken that record passing 250,000 during the latest weekend. It also passed one million units sold across all platforms in one day.
While mod support would quite possibly move the needle a little further from the game’s approach to realism (or perhaps closer to it), it’s certainly great when players are given a chance to customize and perhaps even improve a game that is already great.
At the moment, the developer has mentioned only Steamworks, so it’s likely that official modding will be limited exclusively to PC, but we’ll have to wait and see what happens going forward.
Warhorse already shared a fairly extensive roadmap of updates and changes coming to the game in 2025, including DLC, so fans will likely have plenty to enjoy going forward. Mods certainly have the potential to add further to that.
We’ll keep you updated as Warhorse provides more information about the feature, likely in the upcoming days and weeks.
