Today Tokyo-based developer Unseen released a new video involving its upcoming game Kemuri that is both incredibly cute and interesting.
In the video, we see Lead Level Designer Shane Canning (who previously worked at Insomniac Games) use the game to propose to his future wife, with the support of the rest of the studio.
Of course, we also get a bonus, as we have a rare chance to see more gameplay of the game in development, which is always welcome considering that we haven’t seen much so far.
You can watch the video below.
If you’re unfamiliar with Unseen, it’s the studio founded in Tokyo by Ikumi Nakamura, whom you may know for her role as Creative Director of Ghostwire: Tokyo before leaving Tango Gameworks. She also worked on both The Evil Within and The Evil Within 2.
Incidentally, she also appears in the video, leading the studio from the front in support of Canning’s proposal.
The studio is currently working on Kemuri, a game set in a world mixing traditional Japanese folklore, modern pop-culture, anime aesthetics, and even a dash of Western flair in which the players play the role of Yokai hunters who can see the supernatural.
They can also collect Yokai to unlock their powers and fight in a setting built on verticality that looks definitely fetching from what we’ve seen so far.
For the moment, Kemuri doesn’t have a specific release window or announced platforms. Of course, you can stay tuned on Simulation Daily for further news about Kemuri when Unseen is ready to share more.
