You can purchase the add-on for PC on Orbx Direct for $24.99. Xbox users will have to wait a bit longer until Jurassic World: Archipelago is released on the official MSFS 2024 marketplace.

Additional bundles are available with the PAC 750 XSTOL aircraft, with 6 months of Volanta Premium, or an Ultimate package including both, respectively at $39.99, $39.99, and $49.99.

The centerpiece of the add-on, which is officially licensed and created in collaboration with Universal, is the scenery, which places the six iconic islands from the franchise off the coast of Costa Rica, exactly where they should be.

You’ll be able to explore Isla Nublar, Isla Matanceros, Isla Peña, Isla Sorna, Isla Muerta, and Isla Tacano.

That being said, not everything included in the add-on is fictional, as it also comes with a rendition of Juan Santamaría International Airport (MROC) serving San José, the capital of Costa Rica.

That gives you a starting point to ferry tourists and researchers to the islands, and an arrival hub if you enjoy flying in big airliners from other locations around the world.

Of course, after you land on the islands, you’ll be able to find and explore (on foot or from the air) many iconic locations and buildings from the movies, and meet plenty of animated dinosaurs.

These include Apatosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Dimorphodon, Gallimimus, Mosasaurus, Pteranodon, Stegosaurus, Tyrannosaurus Rex, and Velociraptor.

Completing the package are themed missions and special liveries for some of the aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

If you’d like to learn more, you can read our interview with Orbx CEO Anna Cicognani and watch the previous trailer.

Cicognani also shared a comment with the press release accompanying the launch.

“This project has been a real passion for our team. Combining flight simulation with our love of Jurassic World has been both exciting and groundbreaking. We’ve aimed to create something that feels fun, familiar, and full of surprises for fans of both worlds.”

It’s worth mentioning that those who enjoy Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and X-Plane won’t be left out. Versions of Jurassic World: Archipelago for both simulators are in the works and will come at a later date.
