In a blog post earlier today, Gaming Factor thanked fans for their feedback following the release and promised a new update would be coming to JDM: Japanese Drift Master next week. The main focus of it will be the addition of FSR Upscaler, which will help the game’s performance by rendering at a lower resolution and then intelligently upscaling the image to a higher resolution.

Since release, Gaming Factory has already introduced improvements to the overall performance and optimization for the racing simulator, including tweaking event levels and open worlds by improving shadow quality and adding features to lower graphics settings.

Other issues that’ll be addressed in the near future include:

  • Handbrake support
  • Oversteering issues, specifically for certain steering wheels
  • Ill-functioning assists
  • Adjusting the Force Feedback feeling
  • Creating more wheel presets for various devices
  • Improvements to the save system, including backup save files to mitigate hardware issues.
  • Option to disable HUD in-game
  • Improved shadow quality on Ultra graphics settings
  • Raindrop effects on the windshield for Low and Medium graphics settings

For anyone who hasn’t heard of the recently released simulator, it’s a realistic take on racing and drifting that takes players to an open-world, fictional Japanese prefecture, Guntama. The world features over 250 km of roads, famous tourist landmarks, legendary car enthusiast spots, and more for you to explore with brands like Nissan, Subaru, and Mazda.

JDM: Japanese Drift Master is currently available on Steam for $34.99. For more information on this and other racing simulators like iRacing, Project Motor Racing, and more.
