Earlier this week, Iron Galaxy co-CEO Adam Boyes revealed he would be stepping down from his position at the company. The news came via a press release, in which he stated that, at the end of the year, he would be moving on to his next adventure.
He talks about his time with the company, noting how amazing it was to work with the team and how much he loves the communities they’ve built. He ends by letting fans know that the transition will be gradual and that it won’t affect anything on the development side of things.
“I’m only one member of this team, and they’re still here to keep doing amazing things,” said Boyes. “I want to offer my sincerest thanks to the people who welcomed me to lead this company with them.” You can see the full statement here.
Boyes is best known for his previous roles at Capcom USA and Sony Interactive Entertainment. After resigning from SIE in 2016, he became the CEO of Iron Galaxy, a developer that often collaborates with publishers and other developers to port games to different platforms. During his eight-year tenure, the company developed two original works, Extinction and Rumbleverse, and ported big games like Diablo III to Nintendo Switch and The Last of Us Part I to PC.
Boyes hasn’t hinted at what exactly these new plans are outside of the post, as his most recent Twitter post was about the unique nature of Gamescom food. If any news regarding his next stop is revealed, we will be sure to keep you updated.
