Today iRacing Motorsport Simulations showcased an update coming to the esports racing simulation platform iRacing focusing on the Circuit Zolder.
The track has been completely updated with new models, textures, and materials, using the latest technology in order to bring it to the same quality standards of recently released circuits. That being said, the drivable surfaces remain unchanged for consistency.
Two configurations are available, Grand Prix and Alternate. Players won’t have to do anything to access the update as it completely replaces the older versions that will be completely gone.
Since the drivable surfaces have not been changed, replays recorded on the older version will still work correctly on the newer one.
You can check out the trailer below, showing various areas of the track followed by a full lap seen from the dashboard view.
This adds to the new content showcased yesterday in the form of the BMW M4 G82 GT4 and Cadwell Park Circuit.
If you’re unfamiliar with iRacing, it’s a subscription-based online racing simulation platform that originally debuted in 2008 and is widely considered one of the most realistic in the industry.
it’s designed to simulate real-world driving as closely as possible. On top of that, the racing series run on the platform involve rules that closely mimic real motorsports to create a racing environment that is as professional and fair as possible.
Among other things, iRacing partners with several real-world racing series and organizations including NASCAR, IMSA, the FIA, and many more.
It’s available exclusively for PC and many professional real-world racing drivers use the platform to train on the simulated LIDAR-scanned tracks that precisely reproduce their real-world counterparts.
