Krafton’s inZOI certainly seems like it has the potential to compete against more established life simulators like The Sims, and its developers are going to take a stab at proving it next week.

From August 21 at 4:00 a.m. UTC to August 26 at the same hour, everyone will be able to download inZOI: Character Studio for free from Steam.

Of course, it’ll do what it says on the tin, letting you create all the characters you want, or Zois, as they’re called in the game. Of course, a life simulation game needs to call its characters in some weird way. “Characters” is obviously too pedestrian for this genre.

Considering just how important character creation is for life simulators, it’s not surprising that Krafton is pushing this to show potential players that the game has what it takes to keep their attention.

The software will let you save your creations to use in the game when it becomes available.

Incidentally, the system requirements have been revealed a few days ago, if you want to make sure your PC can handle it.

The developer also launched a trailer showing off the feature in action.

inZOI, which was revealed last year at G-Star in Busan, Korea, is coming in early access for PC at some point down the line and will be showcased at Gamescom next week. Of course, that’ll be a perfect chance to announce a release date, but that’s just my speculation.

Speaking of Krafton, we recently learned that the company has saved Tango Gameworks and its IP Hi-Fi Rush, by acquiring them from Microsoft that was going to shut down the studio.

That’s certainly a great way to acquire both awesome development talent and player goodwill. Two birds with one stone.
