Cozy Narrative Sim Game inKonbini Gets Limited-Time PC Demo Next Month

Makoto inKonbini

A limited-time demo is coming next month for inKonbini: One Store. Many Stories, a cozy narrative simulation game that’s set in 1990s Japan.

The Prologue Demo for inKonbini will look at the opening chapter of the game, setting the stage and giving players a chance to experience the early parts of the game. Makoto, the main character, will work through her first night shift at the convenience store Honki-Ponki.

There, players will get comfortable with the store itself and everything in it, including the ’90s decor and landline players can use to call out. Players will restock and handle customers as they arrive in the demo.

The demo itself is only available from May 1 to May 8, and it’s being presented as part of LudoNarraCon 2025. This isn’t the first time it’ll be shown off at a show (it was featured at the Tokyo Indie Games Summit 2025 last month and announced before that).

According to developer Nagai Industries, this limited-time demo is inspired by the Japanese philosophy of ichi-go ichi-e, which is the idea that each encounter in life is unique and can’t be repeated.

inKonbini: One Store. Many Stories is set to release early next year, and this is the first demo players will be able to get their hands on. It’s not clear whether another demo will be available later, but Nagai Industries is excited to share the atmosphere and world of inKonbini with fans in just a few days.

The demo is only available on Steam, though the full game will be launched on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S as well.

Excited fans can currently check out inKonbini’s website. There’s a lot of exploration and education about the game available, such as different areas of Honki-Ponki and gifs of gameplay.
