Infinity Nikki has yet another optimization update and promises more to come, showing that Infold Games is listening to feedback and working to implement these changes quickly.
This specific update takes care of Whimcycle controls, which were a major problem on mobile devices. There are two new joystick control modes, one that includes a joystick and a button combo and one that’s just one joystick. Players can switch between these modes in Settings and decide which they prefer.
Plus, players will now respawn riding their Whimcycle if they take a dip into the water. Future updates will let players ride their Whimcycle outside of Breezy Meadow, too.
Resources were also adjusted, refreshing at 4 am (server time) every day.
From there, Infold explained several things it’s working on. These all come from player feedback, largely from the millions of surveys within Infinity Nikki.
Several new things are coming to mobile. Right now, developers are working on game performance on different mobile devices, specifically Huawei/Honor devices. There have been several mobile optimization updates in the past, and more are still rolling out.
Additionally, the team is working on giving mobile players a 60 fps option. Of course, this won’t apply to all devices. This future update is pushing developers (and current devices) to their limits in Unreal Engine 5.
There will also be better targeting for Purifying Orbs in the future. While this affects mobile players most because of tricky controls, the system will also impact PC and console players. Enemies will be easier to hit, particularly at close range and with unusual heights. There will be no more jumping and trying to time attacks perfectly when this rolls out.
Despite having stellar introduction tutorials, many players felt like the tutorials dropped off. This has caused a lot of confusion and general failure to remember systems in the game. These tutorials will be revamped to try and help players get through the prologue with all the information they need without feeling overwhelmed.
Soon, players will be able to auto-choose the best outfit for Styling Challenges. Styling Challenges are about finding the highest score combination possible, and this automatic option will make that much easier and quicker.
Players will also be able to take pictures while on Momo in the future. Currently, photo mode doesn’t work when players use the Shrinking ability.
Other upcoming updates will add the following:
- PC Key Bindings
- Vertical Photo Mode
- Esseling Tracking
Infinity Nikki has had over 10 million downloads, and this optimization update shows that developers are taking player feedback seriously. Many issues have already been addressed in past optimization updates.
This isn’t stopping Infinity Nikki from expanding, either — a recent trailer hinted that more areas might be coming sooner than players thought.
