Today MachineGames and Bethesda Softworks introduced a rather extensive chunk of gameplay of the upcoming action-adventure game Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
While the gameplay jumps around between many snippets and we don’t get much uninterrupted footage, it’s still plenty to get a feel of the game.
The most important point I can make is that it definitely feels and looks just like classic Indiana Jones (with the addition of fascist Italian enemies on top of the usual nazis), which is great.
Actually, the game’s puzzles, despite the obvious change in perspective and visuals, give me serious Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis vibes, which I’m sure many agree is the best Indiana Jones game ever made.
Of course, we also take a look at combat. Indy may be an archaeologist, but he never was shy about throwing a punch of twenty. The whip inevitably plays a major role, both in battle and in simple traversal puzzles.
You can watch it for yourself below. In almost 15 minutes of footage, there’s a lot to enjoy.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be released on December 9, 2024, for PC and Xbox Series X|S, and in spring 2025 for PS5. The PS5 version is part of Microsoft’s effort to offer some of its games on competing consoles to broaden their audience and ecosystem.
