Today, during the celebrations for the EVO Awards, Arc System Works and Bushiroad revealed the release date of the anime and manga-inspired fighting game Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact.
During the livestreamed event, we learned that the 2D fighting game will be released on July 17, 2025, for PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
We get to see the digital pre-order bonuses and we learn that there will be three editions.
Besides the standard edition, the Digital Deluxe Edition will provide you with the first season pass and an alternate costume for Chrollo, while the physical limited edition will include costumes for Kurapika and Hisoka, on top of a special box, an acrylic stand, and a special booklet.
The game will support rollback netcode, and will have all the features you expect from a full-fledged top-tier fighting game, from single player to multiplayer, and plenty of extras.
I did mention the Season Pass 1, and indeed that has been announced (isn’t it lovely when they do that before a game is even released?). We also learn of the first character, Nephelpito (or Neferpitou depending on the transliteration you prefer). We also get a release window in Fall 2025 and the season pass will include three more characters down the line.
You can find the trailer below.
If you’re unfamiliar with Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact, it’s developed by Eighting, known for its work on Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, DNF Duel, Bloody Roar, Fate/unlimited codes, Tekken Advance, and more.
It’s inspired by the ultra-popular Hunter x Hunter manga by Yoshihiro Togashi, which debuted all the way back in 1998 and is still ongoing, published by Shueisha on Weekly Shonen Jump. Over time, it spawned a long-running anime TV series, movies, OVA, and even several video games.
Recently, we saw reveals for Kite and Morel.
In other fighting game news, earlier today Cygames revealed four characters for Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, while French Bread showcased another for Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes.
