S3 Studio has released patch v0.7.4 for House of Legacy, adding new actions and gameplay mechanics for the royal family (and those tied to it), along with plenty of bug fixes as the gorgeous city-building sim progresses in early access.
In House of Legacy, family members of the royal family can influence the Emperor’s actions, and patch v0.7.4 adds more ways to do this. For example, players can make the Emperor issue military edicts to start wars. They can also host Grand Sacrificial Rites, helping prevent natural disasters, pardon people, grant amnesty, and even create an additional nationwide tax.
There are also several new features for expanding the imperial family as well, including the following:
- Start matchmaking for members of the royal family
- Appoint (or dispose of) the Empress, which includes promoting concubines to Empress
- Arrange individual royal weddings for both princes and princesses
- Appoint or dispose of the Crown Prince
- Help the Crown Prince take their crown
- Lock away royals to stop in-house fighting
- Cancel royal marriages
- Discreetly bring death on royals
New basic palace intrigue events have been added as well, increasing the chance for conflict between princes, consorts, and concubines. This is a system that S3 Studio plans to expand over time.
Additionally, the clan system has been adjusted a bit. For example, if the clan ends up in the royal family, then the court won’t demand help.
More features centered on actions within the royal family are planned for a future update. So far, S3 Studio revealed that players will be able to issue decrees through the Emperor, grant and revoke dukedoms, and assign royal clan members to work as regents.
There were also several bug fixes with House of Legacy’s v0.7.4, including problems within the royal family like having multiple Empresses.
S3 Studio ended the patch notes with a nod to players who are struggling with House of Legacy’s performance, family tree problems, and UX repetitiveness. It pointed out that, as a three-person team, balancing these features will take time, as they’ll need to rework more than meets the eye.
However, the studio is committed to doing so. S3 Studio has been very open and honest with its development process so far, so this is another good sign that it cares about the community feedback.
