HoYoverse held its Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.8 Special Program, revealing the twisting Penacony plotline, a new five-star character, the events coming, and plenty more.

To kick things off, Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.8 will take players back to Penacony, the Land of Dreams, as they learn that their memories of the events there were altered. The Dahlia — also known as the daughter of Duke Inferno, Constance — meets the Trailblazer in Amphoreus to explain that things aren’t as they seem.

This takes players through Penacony from Firefly’s point of view, where she meets an old friend from her time as a Glamoth Iron Cavalry Knight. Of course, The Family isn’t letting this happen quietly, and the Dream of Gnawing Oak and the seat of power that Sunday left open is moving in the background.

The Dahlia will also be a playable character, joining the roster as a five-star Nihility character. Her kit revolves around Break Damage. She can create a gloomy Zone that lets allies trigger Super Break Damage with Toughness Reduction before the enemies’ Weakness is broken.

The Dahlia will also choose an ally to become Dance Partners with, and her Ultimate makes enemies weak to her partner’s Type. Additionally, when either The Dahlia or her partner attacks, they’ll also trigger an additional proc of Super Break Damage.

The Dahlia will run in Phase One of Version 3.8, alongside Firefly, Gallagher, Luka, and March 7th. Phase Two of Version 3.8 will feature Fugue, Lingsha, Sampo, Natasha, and Arlan.

Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.8 will run for an extended period of time, which creates space for a third phase of banners. This will feature Aglaea, Sunday, Tingyun, Yukong, and Dan Heng.

When it comes to events, Version 3.8 will have The Chrysos Awoo Championship and Remnants of Twilight. The Chrysos Awoo Championship puts players in charge of the adorable Amphoreus chimeras as they fight in a championship against other characters, while Remnants of Twilight is more strategic and combat-focused.

Because Version 3.8 is extended, there will also be a new Treasure Hunt. This gives players tokens for consuming Trailblaze Power, which they can then redeem for rewards (including Stellar Jades).

Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.8 will be released on December 17, on PC, PlayStation 5, and mobile devices. Players can check out the trailer for the upcoming version below:
