HoYoverse has released the Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.6 Special Program, Back to Evernight, revealing the details of the upcoming update, including new forms of beloved characters, a free five-star character, the release date, and more.

The first new character, a five-star Ice Rememberance unit Evernight, isn’t exactly new. This is a new version of March 7th, who entered Amphoreus and symbolizes March 7th’s forgotten past. Her kit revolves around memosprites, boosting the Crit Damage of all memosprites on her team. As she attacks, or when she and/or her memosprite take damage, her memosprite gets stronger before unleashing an AoE attack.

When Evernight uses her Ultimate, she’ll deal AoE damage and enter an enhanced state. In this state, both her and her memosprite’s damage is increased.

The next is Dan Heng Permansor Terrae, a five-star Physical Preservation unit. This is a new form of Dan Heng, who meets Terravox and obtains the Earth coreflame, claiming his own new form. This new form creates a shield for all allies while choosing one teammate to Bond with, giving them a Souldragon to help them out.

He can also generate another shield with his Ultimate, dealing AoE damage and sending the Soul Dragon to attack. Plus, when the Souldragon attacks, it generates even more shields.

Players can receive Dan Heng Permansor Terrae for free from October 15, 2025, until the end of Version 4.0, including the materials to level him up to level 60.

Evernight and The Herta will be on the first half of Version 3.6’s banner. The second half will include Dan Heng Permansor Terrae and Anaxa.

As for events, a new event, Nice Weather for Dromases, centered around raising a baby Dromas. This includes raising various traits and teaching them. Anaxa and Hyacine will help.

A new multipayer Seal Slammers mode is also coming, where players will be able to choose main attacking seals and supporting seals. Origami Bird Clash is also getting another multiplayer mode, Best of the Flock, where 30 players will go through rounds to come out on top.

A new combat event is coming too, the Try-Not-to-Laugh Challenge. Characters will turn into comedians, which will help take out waves of opponents. This event has to do with the Masked Fools, which means Sparkle and Sampo are sure to show up.

Anomaly Arbitration will be a new end-game mode with four stages. Players will need to form three teams to take these trials on, where they’ll earn rewards to further optimize their artifacts and a new token currency, among other rewards.

Version 3.6 is also getting a new storefront, which includes an adorable sidekick Chimera that’s colored like Evernight. The tokens for the shop can either be purchased or earned from the Anomaly Arbitration. Pom-Pom will also give all players some of these tokens at the start of Version 3.6.

Version 3.6 is also introducing the ability to replay Story Missions and a new Journey Highlights tab. The Journey Highlights tab shows the most important and limited-time events going on and the rewards available.

As for future updates, a new permanent game mode called Currency Wars is coming in Version 3.7. Here, players will choose 10 characters to test out together, though it isn’t clear how this will work. More news will come in the future.
