Today, Kojma Productions hosted a 10th Anniversary show titled “Beyond the Strand” from Tokyo, and had quite a few interesting news to share with Hideo Kojima’s fans.
The livestream started with a further reveal of Od, the horror game created in collaboration with Xbox Game Studios. We learn the full title “OD – Knock”
Development is “well underway,” and we get to see real gameplay footage in Unreal Engine 5.
According to Phil Spencer, Microsoft is doing work behind the scenes, helping with Unreal Engine 5 and more.
We also get to see the main visual.
We then hear that A24 is working on a Death Stranding movie, written and directed by A Quiet Place Director Michael Sarnoski. It’ll actually tell a totally different story set in the Death Stranding universe.
Next, we take a look at Death Stranding Mosquito, an animated movie dedicated to Death Stranding, animated by ABC Animation Studio and directed by Hiroshi Miyamoto, with a screenplay by Aaron Guzikowski.
We then hear about the tactical espionage action game Physint, and we get to see the key visual portraying the main character, created in partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment.
We hear that Charlee Fraser, Ma-Dong Seok (also known as Don Lee), and Minami Hamabe will be playing roles in the game, although none of them will play the main hero.
Kojima-san also introduced an in-engine model of Hamabe-san created with a new technology developed by 3Lateral.
A collaboration with Zaku was then announced, involving the release of a dedicated bottle of sake.
Lastly, a partnership with Niantic Spatial was announced. The company has been chosen as a technology partner to create an AR experience that goes “beyond the screen,” weaving gameplay in the real world.
