Helldivers 2 Releases Galactic Emergency & Major Patch Update

Today, Arrowhead Game Studios released the next major update coming to its hit third-person shooter Helldivers 2, titled Galactic Emergency.

In Helldivers 2 Galactic Emergency, it is up to you and your fellow patriots to band together and stop this salvo from destroying liberty. In the update, you’ll battle new enemies, like the jetfighter Stingray, barrage heavy Crescent Overseer, and the Voteless Fleshmob.

To help Helldivers fight the good fight, you’ll now be able to customize your primary weapons via levels, which you’ll get by completing missions. You can adjust magazines for ammo capacity, muzzles to optimize weapon performance characteristics, or adjust under-barrel attachments for handling.

These will then unlock new attachments and weapon patterns, which are obtainable through Requisition. Old Warbonds are also getting new looks and patterns, including Viper Commandos, Freedom’s Flame, Chemical Agents, and Truth Enforcers Warbonds, all of which will launch on May 15 alongside the Masters of Ceremony Warbond.

The Superstore is also getting an emergency expansion. Items are now always available, ready to stock your ship and armor your Helldivers with items you might have missed the first time around.

Helldivers 2 patch 01.003.000 also launched today, introducing New Illuminate faction enemies and weapon customizations and progression, as well as fixes for crashes, weapon, and other small miscellaneous issues.

Balancing is also being implemented to help improve spread, drag, sway, melee weapons stamina cost, shrapnel spawning, and fire damage for various weapons. You can see the full list of changes coming in the Helldivers 2 patch 01.003.000 and Galactic Emergency via the official Steam post here.

Helldivers 2 is currently available for PlayStation 5 and PC, starting at a price-point of $39.99.
