If you enjoy the animated series Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance on Netflix, now you can relive it in Fortnite’s growing metaverse of themed islands.
Bandai Namco and developer Look North World released Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance: Red vs Blue Launches in Fortnite in Fortnite.
You can access the island via the code 7089-7797-5952 and then you can pick your side, the Earth Federation of the Principality of Zeon.
You will then drop in your base where you can gear up before going into battle to fight over caches that drop MS Reactor Power. When a faction reaches 200 MS Reactor Poer, they can activate their mobile suit, respectively the Gundam EX or the ZAKU II (Unidentified Type) Solari.
Once activated, the mobile suit can turn the tide of the battle, as you can see in the trailer below.
The press release included a statement from Alex Seropian, Founder and CEO of Look North World.
“Look North World specializes in creating premium, interactive experiences that align with what’s currently driving culture. Bandai Namco has raised the bar with Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance, and we’ve captured the spirit of the show to create an experience that puts gamers on the battlefield. The experience is available for free in Fortnite, where gamers already love to play. Choose your faction today, and we’ll see you on the scoreboard.”
We also hear from Karim Farghaly, senior vice president of corporate development for Bandai Namco Entertainment America.
“The Gundam series has the most loyal fans, and we’re on a mission to deliver them fresh entertainment and experiences. We’re grateful for the extremely positive reception to Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance, and we’re excited to let fans recreate the experience in Fortnite with fast-paced faction combat in Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance: Red vs Blue.
We’re proud of what we’ve created by collaborating with Look North World, and we look forward to seeing players square off against each other in Fortnite’s very own Gundam battlefield.”
Fortnite is currently available on pretty much every platform, excluding iOS outside of Europe. The new season has just launched, while the popular Fortnite OG is coming as a permanent mode.
Epic Games has been hard at work transforming it into a full-fledged metaverse, with considerable success. Besides content created by users and professional developers working for brands, we are also seeing the proliferation of islands promoting a variety of social initiatives.
