Today, Blindflug Studios teased the next major update for the early access version of its base builder and management simulator, Ground of Aces.
The Devlog was a quick snapshot of what players can expect, as the developers are currently working on redesigning and implementing features. Those additions and changes will include new missions, an AA-Gun, and the ability to spectate aerial battles.
Missions as a whole will be getting a redesign, as players will soon receive them via a new mission map that displays locations and connected missions from a partial view of Europe. The same mission type can also occur at different geographic locations, such as cities, airfields, or regions, with each influencing mission descriptions and fuel costs while keeping other mission parameters the same.

A new tool is being added to the arsenal to give ground support a bit more help via the Vickers Machine Gun, which can be operated by a single crew member. This defensive tool requires fewer shipment slots than the Bofors gun, but comes with trade-offs: a shorter range and reduced damage.
Aerial battles are getting expanded, featuring animations that play out above your base so you can witness more of the action firsthand. These sequences will be tied to your scramble report, with a new eye button that lets you observe the fight and see fighters intercepting and shooting down incoming enemy aircraft as they attempt to attack your base.
The update will also include a handful of fixes and other quality-of-life improvements, such as character generator improvements, better import functionality, and new tree growth. You can see the full list of changes via the official patch notes here.
For those unaware, Ground of Aces puts players in the shoes of an air base commander, tasked with building a base and commanding an illustrious fleet of aircraft. You’ll be in charge of selecting the right aircraft for each mission while also hearing the stories of the crews that pilot each craft along the way.
The military base simulator is currently available in early access on PC. For more information on this and other indie simulation titles on Steam, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for updates.
