Back in January, Blindflug Studios shared a first look at the fourth Major Update for Ground of Aces, revealing new content like airplane liveries, a new map, a map editor, graphics improvements, and more. Today, the Maps & Liveries path officially went live.
Players will now not only be able to create their own maps with the brand new Map Editor, but also choose between a myriad of skins and color schemes for their favorite airplanes. You can design and share your map, changing everything from terrain and flora to available materials and already-set-up buildings, without worrying about resources or building times.
There will also be Natural Metal Finish skins and colorful, unique-looking skins, as well as special skins that can be unlocked with promo codes given out on special occasions and as part of collaborations with content creators. Along with adding a cosmetic look, these customizations also provide unique stat bonuses.

A new AA gun will also be part of Ground of Aces Maps & Liveries: the Oerlikon 20mm Cannon. This weapon was historically produced near the developer’s office in Zurich, making the addition more personal and exciting. Graphical improvements coming with the patch include new shading effects that embrace the comic-like arty style.
Alongside Major Update 4, Ground of Aces provided an update on Wings of Valor, which is a DLC promise made during our Kickstarter campaign. The developers have started building the DLC piece by piece, and it is available for free in its current state.
The DLC currently includes one aircraft, the Mesquito, but will continue to grow through future updates and receive more content. It will transition from free to paid at a later point. Players who pick it up now will receive all future additions at no extra cost.
Ground of Aces is a military base simulator that is currently available in early access on PC. For more information on this, including the Warplanes Update and other indie simulation titles on Steam, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for updates.
