Gran Turismo 7 World Series Round 2 Crowns its Winners as Partnership with Dunlop is Announced

Gran Turismo 7 World Series Round 2 - Jose Serrano races toward the finish line.

Today, Sony and Polyphony Digital hosted Round 2 of the Gran Turismo 7 World Series in Berlin, and the winners have been crowned.

The prestigious Nations Cup saw Jose Serrano from Spain take the top spot on the podium, leaving the second-ranked Valerio Gallo from Italy behind by a rather wide 7-second margin.

Third was Kaj de Bruin from the Netherlands.

Serrano and Gallo also lead the points ranking after two rounds, with 12 points and 9 points, respectively. Serrano had won the first round as well, while Gallo ranked third in London.

Third in the ranking is Pol Urra with 6 points, who pretty much threw the race with a tyre change close to the end when he was in second place, failing to repeat the result achieved in London.

Below, you can check out the rankings and the recording of the livestream on demand.

Moving on to the Manufacturers Cup, first place was conquered by Kylian Drumont driving for Subaru, followed by Thomas Labouteley for BMW and Mikołaj Sedziak for Nissan.

This places Subaru first in the overall ranking with full points, followed by BMW with 10 points, as Drumont and Labouteley repeated their results from round 1. Nissan is in third place.

Yet, that wasn’t all, as Sony and Polyphony Digital announced a partnership with Dunlop, which will become the official tyre partner of the game and the World Series.

What this means has been kept pretty much under wraps, besides the fact that the brand will be integrated into the game in future updates, with Polyphony providing simulation tech to the brand and Dunlop sharing its know-how on tyres with the developers.
