The weekend of the grand finals of the Gran Turismo World Series 2024 has started with the traditional Gran Turismo 7 Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup 2024, and something unprecedented has happened.
Three drivers from Spain conquered the whole podium in Amsterdam in the Netherlands, with Jose Serrano taking first place followed by Pol Urra and Coque López. This never happened before in the history of the competition.
The Spanish domination didn’t end at the podium. While Takuma Sasaki from Japan took fourth place, Alex López Murillo closed the top five.
Below you can check out the whole results table.
If you’d like to watch the final race, you can enjoy it below from the on-demand recording.
If you’re wondering, Toyota Gazoo Racing is a motorsport division of popular car manufacturer Toyota, which has been a supporter of the Gran Turismo series for a long time.
The weekend has just started. Today we’ll also see the Grand Final of the Manufacturer’s Cup, while the Grand Final race of the Nations Cup will be hosted tomorrow.
It’s quite likely that we’ll also hear some news about Gran Turismo 7 itself at some point during the two events, as the competition is often used as an occasion for reveals.
Incidentally, if you want to give the game a try, there has never been a better time, as a brand-new and rather extensive demo titled My First Gran Turismo has just been released yesterday.
Gran Turismo 7 is currently available for PS5 and PS4.
