Code Horizon has officially announced that its hit simulation title about prospecting is getting a sequel, simply titled Gold Mining Simulator 2.
Originally released back in 2017, the first title in the series struck gold, becoming a popular title with fans thanks to its emphasis on using real-world mining techniques and machines. Gold Mining Simulator 2 looks to build don’t that success by adding plenty of new gameplay features and challenges while still keeping what made the original a hit.
You can take a look at what to expect in the official announcement trailer right down below:
Alongside the emphasis on using real-world mining techniques and machines, the sequel will require players to shape the land they work, cutting down trees, digging, and watching the ground shift and settle with realistic physics properties. After successfully gathering materials, you’ll then head to your camp, which players can construct and customize to their liking.
Repairs, upgrades, resource management, and exploration are also key gameplay elements for Gold Mining Simulator 2. Explore maps with five different biomes and rotating weather and complete side jobs and quests to earn money and you’ll be able to maintain your equipment, buy new machines, and upgrade old ones while managing your budget.
All of this can be experienced solo or with other players, thanks to its multiplayer feature. Take on different roles, form rivalries or friendships, and trade amongst each other in this mode just like you would in real life to make for the most authentic mining experience possible.
A brand new Q&A livestream also aired a bit earlier today, as Code Horizon answered questions, revealed some juicy info about the sequel, and showed off plenty of gameplay footage, including some for multiplayer.
Gold Mining Simulator 2 does not have an exact release date or price, but it can be wishlisted on Steam. For more information on this and other simulation titles, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily.
