If you love visual novels, you may be familiar with Petit Depotto’s Gnosia, and soon it’ll get an anime.
The world of the indie social deduction visual novel RPG will serve as the base for a full-fledged anime TV series which will air in 2025, produced by Aniplex.
To accompany the announcement, Aniplex released a teaser trailer and key artwork showcasing the protagonist.
The announcement was also accompanied by a comment by Gnosia’s Lead Designer Toru “Mezukare” Kawakatsu, who mentions that he was deeply involved in the project as a producer from the start, including supervision of the formation of the animation team formation and final word on the content.
He was surprised by the quality and passion of the animators and he has been involved in many lively discussions with the folks at Aniplex to create an interesting and surprising story with imagery and scenes that could not be achieved in a video game.
The protagonist of the anime has a will of their own just like the many players of the game, and will run through the world of Gnosia while weaving one of the many possible storylines.
In the meanwhile, if you haven’t played Gnosia just yet, it’s available for PC, PS Vita, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
In other visual novel news, Mages announced a reboot of Steins;Gate and remasters of Never 7: The End of Infinity and Ever 17: The Out of Infinity,
Aquaplus announced a remake of To Heart, and the localization of Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien finally arriving after 23 years.
Last, but not least, a sequel of Christmas Tina is coming, titled The Last Poem.
