Genshin Impact Reveals Version Luna I with Release Date, New Region, Characters, and More

Genshin Impact Song of the Welkin Moon Key Art

Today, Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse had a major announcement to share with the fans, with the full reveal of Version Luna I: “Song of the Welkin Moon: Segue.”

This is the beginning of a new chapter that was teased at Gamescom and that will last a full year, and it’ll release on September 10.

First of all, it’ll introduce a full new region to explore, Nrod-Krai, including three island areas: Hiisi Island, Lempo Isle, and Paha Isle.

Nrod-Krai comes with a new mechanic, Kuuvahki, an ancient elemental energy influenced by the Moon. Objects, environments, and creatures are affected by this power and can glow red and blue. These colors work like magnets, with objects glowing with the same color repelling each other, while different colors attract.

By approaching such objects or by entering a strong Kuuvahki environment, players will enter empowered state and display a Moonsign of the relevant color.

This will allow you to jump higher, be stronger in combat, and solve magnetic-like puzzles.

You’ll also meet elemental lifeforms called Kuuhenki, who will also grant you empowered state. They will also follow you and let you transform into them to roam the land.

They even leave glowing trails behind as they move, and you can ride these “moonlanes” to traverse areas quickly.

New characters included in this version are the 5-star Dendro character Lauma, the 5-star Electro character Flins, and the 4-star Hydro character Aino.

Another new mechanic is Meeting Points, which will let you explore a character’s daily life, chat with them, and enjoy unique events.

Below, you can enjoy the trailer of the new version.

We also get a trailer dedicated to Nrod-Krai.

The third video shows Mliastra Wonderland, a minigame focusing on user-generated content that lets you enjoy stages created by other players and create your own with the Miliastra Sandbox editor tool.

If you want to learn more, below you can enjoy the full presentation livestreamed earlier today.

As usual, HoYoverse revealed three codes that you can use to earn a few Primogems and additional goodies.

As usual, keep in mind that these don’t last long and will expire on September 1.

Genshin Impact is currently available for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS, and Android.

Just today, HoYoverse has revealed a new game titled Honkai: Nexus Anima, while another life simulator titled Petit Planet should be revealed soon.
