The Genshin Impact character trailer for Kinich is here, revealing everything about one of the most mobile characters in the open-world gacha game.
Kinich is a Saurian hunter who works on commissions when Saurians are sparse. However, his rates are high. He’s known for thinking through everything he does thoroughly, including what jobs he takes. The five-star Dendro character is also the most mobile character Genshin Impact has.
The character trailer gets to the heart of what everyone wants to know: how Kinich works.
Kinich’s Elemental Skill lets him jump through the air with a grappling hook. This lets him traverse the overworld with ease, a perfect feature for Natlan’s terrain. If there are no enemies nearby when he uses it, like when traveling, the cooldown is reduced.
His Elemental Skill also lets him maneuver around enemies to keep them moving while finding the best spot to attack from. Holding down the skill lets him aim this instead of just throwing it into the air in front of him.
Kinich’s passive ability works with this, allowing him to attack in the air before landing after using his Elemental Skill. With enough Phlogiston, he can even swing a second time. If Kinich isn’t the active character and the active character enters the Nightsoul Blessing state (which is when Phlogiston is used), then Kinich will enter the battlefield mid-swing.
His Elemental Skill doesn’t end there. After using the grappling hook on an enemy, his normal attacks turn into Loop Shots at the grappled target while entering the Nightsoul Blessing state. These are Dendro attacks that create Nightsoul points. This also creates a Blind Spot, which Kinich can enter to generate more Nightsoul points.
When his Nightsoul points are full, Kinich can reuse his Elemental Skill to send a giant Dendro bomb at the enemy. He’ll also use all of his Hunter’s Experience stacks to deal more damage with his ascension talent.
When the active party member enters the Nightsoul Blessing state, Kinich gets Hunter’s Experience.
Once he’s level 60 out of 70, enemies he hits with his Elemental Skill will go into Desolation. When these enemies are taking Burning or Burgeon damage, they give Kinich Nightsoul points over time. This state lasts as long as Kinich is in the Nighstould Blessing state.
Kinich’s Elemental Burst unleashes Ajaw, the Almighty Dragonlord. This dragon will deal Nightsoul-aligned Dendro AoE damage periodically if Kinich is on the field. If Kinich is in the Nightsoul Blessing state, then Ajaw will be on the field for even longer.
Kinich has a traveling ability that increases his movement speed when collecting materials in areas with Phlogiston. Plus, nearby Natlan-specific materials will be marked on the mini-map if Kinich is in your party.
