Today HoYoverse fully revealed the upcoming Version 5.0 of its super-popular action RPG Genshin Impact.

The new version is titled “Flower Resplended on the Sun-Scorched Sojourn” and it will be released on August 28, 2024, for PC, iOS, Android, PS4, and PS5.

The new characters will be Kachina (4 stars Geo polearm wielder), voiced in English by Kristen McGuire and in Japanese by Yurika Kubo, Mualani (5 stars Hydro catalyst wielder) voiced by Cassandra Lee Morris in English and Nao Toyama in Japanese, and Kinich (5 stars Dendro claymore wielder), voiced by John Pateneaude in English and Noriyaki Sugiyama in Japanese. His digital familiar is voiced by Abby Espiritu and Junko Takeuchi.

Mulani and Kachina will be available in the phase 1 event wishes alongside Kaedehara Kazuha, while phase 2 will have Kinich paired with the Raiden Shogun.

Interestingly, one of the main features included in the update is new exploration mechanics tied to the new characters and the Saurians that can be found in the new nation of Natlan.

Players can use the “indwellig” feature to take control of the Saurians and use their traversal abilities. By visiting different tribes living in Natlan, players will be able to meet many different species of Saurians.

Kinich moves around via Grappling Hook, Mualani uses a Sharky Surfboard, and Kachina uses the Turbo Twirly.

In Natlan players will find a substance called Phlogiston, which is an advanced native form of the Pyro element. Another concept related to the new region is the “Ancient Names” which is the way the legends of old heroes who defended the region in the past are passed down through the generations and remembered.

Of course, we’ll also meet the Pyro Archon Mavuika, and she’ll play a major role in the story from 5.0 onward.

We’ll be able to visit Land of Vibrant Stone and Flaming Springs, where travelers will meet a Tepetlisaurs nicknamed “Little One” that will accompany them in their adventurers. They’ll also encounter three tribes, the Children of Echoes, the Scions of the Canopy, and the People of the Springs.

Underground we’ll find areas full of lava (or liquid Phlogistin) that can be navigated with the help of the Koholasaurs saurians, while the Yumkasaurs can dart around cliffs. Interestingly, we’ll also meet a rather large(but still cute) Yumkasaur boss named “Gluttonous Yumkasaur Mountain King”

Interestingly, among the new features of version 5.0, high-level players will be able to enjoy World Level 9 in the open world, to earn additional drops. Salvaging artifacts will also yield enhancement materials.

Sanctifying Elixirs will be extracted from upgraded artifact and will be usable to create artifacts with specific affixes.

Starting with 5.0, players will be able to increase their stamina by making offerings to the Statues of the Seven in any region.

During the 50/50, players will have a chance to trigger a “Capturing Radiance” effect that will result in drawing the promotional character. The Epitomized Path of Weapon Event Wishes will have the maximum number of Fate Points dropped from 2 to 1.

Lastly, players will be able to grab a 5-star character of their choice from the Wanderlust Invocation Standard Wish. This won’t happen just this year, but every anniversary.

To summarize, the bonuses for the 4th anniversary will be as follows.

The TL/DR for system optimizations and updates is as follows.

As usual, during the reveal of a new version, HoYoverse shared redemption codes for Primogems and more goodies.
